Antique bell corkscrew, grapevine relief, brass & pewter, c.1890–1910 barware | Made in France

FOR SALE ☞ Antique bell-style wine corkscrew with raised grapevine décor, pewter/white-metal body and brass fittings, circa 1890–1910; handsome usable display for a bar cart or cellar.

DESCRIPTION ☞ Classic late-Victorian/Edwardian bell (cloche) corkscrew. The cylindrical bell slips over the bottle lip; turning the T-handle raises/lowers the central screw, with a knurled stop collar to set depth. Pewter/white-metal barrel with crisp grapevine panels, brass handle and screw, and a white ivorine/celluloid protector ring at the base. Likely Continental (French or German) manufacture from the turn of the century. Smooth action; excellent shelf presence and a solid addition to a barware collection.

• Height (closed): 5.75–6 in (14.5–15 cm)
• Handle width: ~3.75–4 in (9.5–10 cm)
• Bell diameter at base: ~1.5 in (3.8 cm)

CONDITION ☞ Good antique condition with honest wear. Uniform darkened patina to pewter and brass, small dings and finish rubs from use, light oxidation in crevices. Base protector ring intact with age toning. Threads turn freely. Cleaned lightly; not over-polished. See all photos for details—sold as shown.
