FOR SALE ☞ Antique Victorian Cranberry Glass Epergne – Delicate Hand Blown Art Glass Centerpiece with Twisted Arms & Rigaree

(Please read full description and condition notes below and send us a message with any additional questions you may have!)

DESCRIPTION ☞This exquisite antique Victorian epergne is a breathtaking example of 19th-century glass artistry. Crafted from a delightfully warm and ethereal golden cranberry glass, this elegant centerpiece features a tall, fluted trumpet vase adorned with applied clear glass rigaree details.

Two smaller matching baskets hang gracefully from twisted clear glass arms, a sign of superior craftsmanship that adds to its rarity and value.

The glass components are affixed to the brass fittings using Plaster of Paris, a traditional method commonly used in Victorian glassware. This material has aged naturally over time, showing a powdery white finish that is consistent with period construction techniques.

The base features a gracefully ruffled bowl, its intricate edges adding a touch of softness and movement to the piece. This elegant design not only enhances its overall beauty but also elevates its functionality, providing a stable foundation while complementing the delicate, twisting stems and baskets above.

This cranberry glass epergne is unlike anything you've seen in person, with its warm, rich orange-red tone that exudes a subtle, golden radiance. The delicate glasswork, with its graceful twist stems and dainty baskets, reflects the exquisite craftsmanship of a bygone era, making it a truly standout piece.

For the past three years, this stunning epergne has proudly served as the centerpiece of our store window display, captivating the attention of passersby with its exquisite color and intricate design. It’s with a touch of sadness that we part with this cherished piece, as its timeless beauty has truly become a beloved part of our shop’s character and story.

We are hoping to find it a new forever home where it can continue to be admired. There is no doubt, it will be the perfect addition to an antique glass collection or an elegant décor accent in a historic home!

DIMENSIONS ☞Measures approximately just under 17 inches from bowl to top trumpet ruffled edge. Bowl diameter measures 8-9 inches (including ruffles.)

CONDITION ☞This epergne is in excellent antique condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. Rough finishing (pontils on bottom of baskets and ends of the twist glass cane arms for example) is present, consistent with the artistry of the time and age of the piece. The glass remains vibrant and intact, and the metal fittings show an aged patina consistent with its age. The twisted clear glass arms are intact and well-preserved, adding to its intricate design. Please review the photos and description above carefully for details.

PLEASE NOTE — 📦 Due to the age, rarity, and delicate nature of this item, each piece of the epergne will be individually wrapped in bubble wrap and double-boxed for maximum protection. We will provide packing and deconstruction photos to assist with easy reassembly upon arrival.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Do you accept returns?

For EU & UK buyers: As required by consumer law, most online purchases can be cancelled within 14 days of delivery. Certain exceptions apply (antiques, collectibles, items sold “for parts/repair”). Buyer pays return shipping, and refunds are issued only after the item is received and verified in its original condition.

For buyers outside the EU/UK (e.g. USA, Canada): All sales are considered final. Returns are not accepted except in cases of significant misrepresentation.

    Do you accept exchanges?

No. All of our items are considered one-offs and unique so we can not offer exchanges at this time.

Will I have to pay extra customs or duty fees if I’m in the U.S.?

We ship all U.S. orders using the most reliable method available. Some items (especially antiques over 100 years old or U.S.-made goods) are tariff-exempt under current rules. For other items, we do our best to pre-pay duties and include them in the price (known as DDP — Delivered Duty Paid) so what you see at checkout is what you’ll pay.

    What does “DDP” mean?

DDP stands for Delivered Duty Paid. It means we take care of the customs paperwork and fees on our end whenever possible. That way, your package clears the border smoothly and you won’t get a surprise bill on delivery.

    Are there any exceptions?

Most antiques and U.S.-made vintage items ship duty-free. European pieces are usually covered by DDP (we pre-pay the duty and build it into the price). Canadian-made vintage can sometimes carry higher tariffs; in those rare cases, we’ll either adjust the listing price to reflect the duty or let you know up front if extra charges could apply. If you have any concerns regarding tariffs, please message us prior to purchase and we would be happy to do some research for you!

What happens if customs does charge extra?

We’re transparent about this from the start: buyers are responsible for any customs/import fees that may apply. That said, we always do our best to minimize the risk by using the right codes and carriers. If you have questions about a specific item, message us before checkout and we’ll give you an honest answer about what to expect.

Why do some Canadian shops say “buyer is responsible for duty”?

That’s Etsy’s default policy. We go a step further by explaining how duties work and when we can cover them. Our goal is to make your buying experience smooth and surprise-free.
